Meta Layoffs from Monday

The new year has begun, and once again, job cuts are making headlines. Just as reports of Infosys laying off hundreds of freshers surfaced, Meta has now come into the spotlight. Starting Monday, the tech giant is set to lay off thousands of employees.

For the past year and a half, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has been implementing large-scale job cuts. After letting go of thousands of employees last year, the company is now gearing up for another round of layoffs starting Monday.

Employees across the U.S., Africa, Europe, and several Asian countries will receive pink slips from Monday onwards. As per U.S. time, emails will start rolling out to employees on the hit list from 5 AM.

However, Meta employees in France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands are currently safe, thanks to local labor laws that provide job protection. While the company continues to lay off employees, it is also planning mass hiring in its Machine Learning department.

According to the latest reports, Meta is set to lay off approximately 3,600 employees over the next 10 days. Employees who failed to meet expectations over the past year are likely to be let go, as per Meta insiders.
