‘Met My Friend Soros’ – Tharoor’s Old Tweet Sparks Controversy

An old tweet by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor from 2009 has gone viral, in which he mentioned meeting “his old friend George Soros.” The resurfacing of the tweet has triggered a backlash, with netizens questioning his association with Soros, often labeled as an "anti-India figure."

Responding to the uproar, Tharoor clarified, “I have known Soros as a casual acquaintance since my time at the UN. I have never taken a single rupee from him or his organizations. I do not support his ideology, nor do I have any political association with him.”
