Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for questioning her party's political decisions. She accused Congress of acting as the BJP’s “B team” during the Delhi elections, leading to its poor performance. Mayawati advised Gandhi to reflect on his party's failures before criticizing others.
Gandhi, while speaking to Dalit students in Raebareli, expressed disappointment that Mayawati did not join forces with Congress and other parties to defeat the BJP. Mayawati responded that Congress shows hostility toward BSP where it is strong but talks of alliances where it is weak, calling this a “double standard.”
In protest against Gandhi's comments, BSP workers in Raebareli put up posters accusing him of hypocrisy. The posters criticized Gandhi for seeking Dalit votes while allowing Congress leaders to undermine Mayawati, a four-time Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Dalit leader.
