A devastating fire broke out in a village in Jammu and Kashmir, destroying approximately 68 houses and leaving many families homeless. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the Mulwarwan village of Kishtwar district. Hundreds of residents were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs as their homes were engulfed in flames.
In response to the disaster, local authorities have provided temporary shelter for the affected families. Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar, confirmed that relief efforts are underway, including the provision of food, clothing, medical aid, and other essential supplies to those affected. Emergency tents have been set up to offer shelter, especially critical in the cold weather conditions.
Initially, reports suggested that around 40 houses were damaged, but the final tally revealed that 68 homes were completely destroyed. Authorities have dispatched disaster management teams to the scene and are working on further relief measures, including financial assistance and long-term rehabilitation for the affected families.
