Marathi Made Mandatory in All Government Offices

The Maharashtra government has taken a significant decision by making Marathi language mandatory in all government offices. Employees are now required to communicate exclusively in Marathi, and failure to comply may lead to strict action.

This decision comes following recommendations from a government committee focused on the preservation and development of the Marathi language. The committee has emphasized the importance of using Marathi in public affairs to strengthen its role in governance and daily communication.

Additionally, the government has directed that computer keyboards must include the Marathi Devanagari script to facilitate seamless usage. Steps are already underway to implement these changes across government departments.
