Maoist leader Sujatha, a key figure with a bounty of over Rs 1 crore on her head, has been arrested, delivering a significant blow to the Maoist movement, which has been reeling from a series of encounters. The police apprehended Sujatha while she was on her way to a hospital in Kothagudem, Telangana, for treatment. She was arrested in Sukma, Chhattisgarh, by Telangana police.
Sujatha held prominent positions within the Maoist organization and was wanted in multiple states, including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana. She also served as the in-charge of the Bastar Divisional Committee.
Authorities revealed that Sujatha was involved in numerous incidents in the Sukma region, making her a most-wanted individual. Her arrest comes shortly after a massive encounter on October 4 in Chhattisgarh, where 31 Maoists, including 13 women, were killed.
