BJP leader Manoj Tiwari responded sharply to BSP chief Mayawati’s demand for Union Home Minister Amit Shah's resignation over his remarks on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Tiwari highlighted the BJP’s efforts to honor Ambedkar, stating, “PM Modi and Amit Shah bought and converted into memorials all the places associated with Ambedkar's life. Is this disrespecting Babasaheb?”
Tiwari accused opposition parties of exploiting Ambedkar’s legacy for electoral gains. “They only use Babasaheb's name for votes,” he claimed. He defended Shah, saying, “Amit Shah merely pointed out that Congress invokes Ambedkar but fails to follow his principles. What’s wrong in that?”
Mayawati had earlier criticized Shah, accusing him of disrespecting Ambedkar’s ideals. The exchange comes amid heightened political tensions, with parties vying to align themselves with Ambedkar’s legacy ahead of key elections.
