BJP president Sukanta Majumdar criticized the TMC government regarding the recent rape and murder of a doctor, claiming that the people of West Bengal will pray for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's removal during Durga Puja.
Majumdar, who is also the Union Minister of State for Education, alleged that a corruption racket in the healthcare sector has been revealed following the tragic incident at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last month. Speaking at a BJP rally in Siliguri, he demanded justice for the doctor’s family and stated that while people will participate in Durga Puja rituals, they won’t celebrate fully until justice is served.
He accused TMC leaders of being involved in a fake medicine scam and criticized Banerjee for inaction. TMC leader Kunal Ghosh responded stating that the BJP was politicizing the situation and that the TMC is committed to ensuring justice for the victim's family through a CBI investigation.
