Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has accused officials from the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Tata Projects of entering his office in Parliament without prior notice. In a letter addressed to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday, Kharge expressed his concerns, calling the incident "highly unusual" and a violation of his rights as an MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha.
Kharge demanded an explanation, questioning on whose orders or instructions these officials entered his office without permission. He emphasized that such an intrusion was disrespectful and unacceptable. The Rajya Sabha office has not yet provided an update on the matter, and CISF has not released an official statement. An official, however, noted that CISF personnel typically accompany other agencies during repair or maintenance work in Parliament to ensure security, but they do not hold keys to offices.
The incident occurred while maintenance work was being carried out in several offices, during which CISF ensured no disruptions occurred while working with various agencies.
