Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh acknowledged that the Haryana election results were unexpected for the Congress. However he expressed confidence about the party’s prospects in Maharashtra and Jharkhand where it has formed strong alliances.
Ramesh emphasized that while the Congress is optimistic it is also remaining vigilant to prevent any last-minute disruptions especially given the BJP’s influence and the role of local administration. He stated that Congress is being extra cautious to avoid a repeat of the Haryana situation where unforeseen issues affected their outcome.
Ramesh’s comments made to PTI underline the party's awareness of potential challenges and its preparedness to counter any interference as it approaches the assembly polls in these key states. The Congress appears determined to secure better results by closely monitoring developments and focusing on maintaining a stable and united front in these alliances.
