As the Maharashtra elections approach, tensions appear to be brewing within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. Former CM and Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan announced that if the MVA wins, a Congress candidate should take the Chief Minister's position. Chavan also claimed that a senior RSS leader approached him with an offer to join the BJP, which he declined, reaffirming his commitment to the Congress and its leadership in Maharashtra.
Chavan’s remarks have fueled speculation about potential rifts within the MVA alliance, as each party continues to campaign vigorously for its candidates. While the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has stated they will announce their CM candidate post-elections, there are now doubts about unity within the MVA regarding the CM position.
Previously, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray repeatedly requested the declaration of a CM candidate before the election. However, both NCP leader Sharad Pawar and Congress reportedly opposed this demand, indicating internal differences.
