The Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena has released a list of 65 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Uddhav Thackeray’s son and former minister, Aaditya Thackeray, will contest from Worli Assembly constituency. Mahesh Sawant will represent Mahim, while Rajan Vichare is the candidate for Thane. Kedar Dighe will challenge current Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency, where Shinde is running for the fourth consecutive time.
Maharashtra is set to hold its assembly elections in November for all 288 constituencies. The NDA alliance, including Ajit Pawar's NCP and Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, has already declared its candidates. Meanwhile, the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, comprising Congress, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction), and Uddhav's Shiv Sena, has reached a seat-sharing agreement, with each party contesting 85 seats.
The MVA leaders have finalized candidates for 270 constituencies, with the remaining 18 seats still under negotiation with the Samajwadi Party. Uddhav’s Shiv Sena has now officially announced its first list of 65 candidates as part of this agreement.
