A terror attack that occurred in Ganderbal district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday has been linked to a Pakistan-based affiliate of Lashkar-e-Taiba. According to national media reports, "The Resistance Front" (TRF), a Lashkar-backed group, has claimed responsibility for the attack. TRF chief Sheikh Sajjad Gul is reportedly the mastermind behind the assault, orchestrating the attack under his direction. TRF has been actively targeting Kashmiri Pandits, Sikhs, and non-locals in a series of attacks over the past year.
In the latest incident, terrorists opened fire on migrant laborers on Sunday evening near Gagangeer in Ganderbal district. A doctor and six other laborers were killed instantly, with several others critically injured. This comes just two days after a similar attack in Shopian, where a laborer from Bihar was shot dead by militants.
