Delhi is gearing up for elections in February, and the political battlefield is heating up as the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) clash for power. While AAP is striving to retain its hold on the capital, BJP is making all-out efforts to seize control, and Congress is fighting to reclaim its lost glory.
Interestingly, despite being part of the INDIA alliance, Congress and AAP are competing separately in Delhi, adding a curious twist to the electoral dynamics. Meanwhile, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal seems to be engaging in a calculated political game with the BJP.
Known for entering politics as an anti-corruption crusader and establishing his foothold in Delhi, Kejriwal found himself embroiled in the liquor scam, leading to his arrest. Determined to prove his innocence, Kejriwal announced that he would not resume his responsibilities as Chief Minister until he was exonerated.
Surprisingly, Kejriwal appointed Atishi to serve as the acting Chief Minister in his absence, a move that caught everyone off guard. As the elections draw near, Kejriwal has escalated the political drama, accusing the BJP of planning to arrest Atishi in a fabricated case. He made these claims in a post on X, aiming to put the BJP on the defensive.
Recently, Atishi introduced new welfare schemes like the "Sanjeevani Yojana" and "Samman Yojana," which Kejriwal claimed have unsettled some individuals, indirectly pointing fingers at the BJP. He alleged that the BJP intends to tarnish Atishi’s rising reputation by imprisoning her.
But Kejriwal didn’t stop there. He further suggested that central agencies might soon conduct raids on the homes of AAP leaders, ramping up his political game to corner the BJP. By preemptively framing himself and his party as victims, Kejriwal is making bold moves to gain the upper hand in the upcoming Delhi elections.
