During the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the state government will promote labeling products manufactured in Karnataka in the Kannada language.
Currently packaging primarily features English but the government aims to include Kannada to honor the language. Siddaramaiah emphasized the need to foster an environment where Kannada is spoken and learned daily stating that this would benefit the language's growth.
He also revealed plans to establish a Kannada museum in the old Mysuru district commissioner’s office known as Attara Kacheri.
Furthermore he warned against any derogatory remarks about Kannada on social media promising strict action against those who disrespect the language and culture. He said the importance of maintaining love for one's mother tongue while learning other languages and urged everyone to contribute to elevating Kannada's status as a classical language worthy of respect.
