Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan expressed her displeasure with Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar over his tone during their exchange asserting that MPs should not be treated like school children especially senior citizens.
She was particularly upset when the Chairman switched off the Leader of Opposition's microphone preventing him from speaking. Bachchan criticized the use of derogatory and unparliamentary language including being called "Buddhiheen" (brainless) and being dismissed as a celebrity.
She emphasized that as a seasoned Parliament member in her fifth term she knows the significance of her words and the importance of respectful discourse in Parliament. She also highlighted that the current tone and language used in Parliament are unprecedented and unacceptable and she demanded an apology for the disrespect shown.
Finally she demanded apology from RS Chairman who is also the Vice President of India.
