Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended an event at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology in Chatha, Jammu. The program marked the inauguration of the four-day National Agriculture Summit and Kisan Mela on Wednesday.
Upon reaching the stage, Omar Abdullah noticed a special, oversized chair reserved for him. However, he declined to sit in it and requested the organizers to replace it with a chair similar to those allocated for other dignitaries on the stage. Once the organizers arranged the same type of chair, he took his seat, earning applause from the audience for his gesture of humility.
Since taking office as J&K Chief Minister on October 16, Omar Abdullah has been steering clear of VIP privileges. He even directed the police not to create “green corridors” for his convoy, emphasizing that the public should not face inconvenience due to his movements.
Omar’s actions have garnered praise for reflecting a grounded and people-centric leadership approach.
