India Ranks Among Top Beef Exporters

According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), India is making significant strides in beef exports. There is no foreign conspiracy behind this—these are purely statistical insights provided by the USDA. Compared to last year, India's beef exports are expected to see a substantial increase this year.

In 2023, India exported approximately 4.57 million tonnes of beef. The USDA now estimates that this number could rise to 4.64 million tonnes in 2024. The surge in exports during the first two months of the year suggests that India's beef exports will surpass previous levels. Additionally, domestic beef consumption in the country has also increased notably.

In 2024, India's beef consumption was reported at around 3 million tonnes. The USDA predicts that this figure might exceed last year's consumption, indicating a growing demand for beef within the country.

Despite occasional controversies and debates over beef consumption, as well as reports of attacks on individuals transporting beef, India continues to thrive in the meat export business. Numerous companies have excelled in this trade, and the government treats it as an economic enterprise. Regardless of the political discourse surrounding beef, the government has no objections to beef exports. After all, exports bring in valuable foreign exchange, and beef is no exception to this rule!
