If I Had Entered Politics 20 Years Ago

Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) party president Kamal Haasan stated that if he had entered politics two decades ago, the situation would have been different, and he would have been in a much higher political position today. He said that not entering politics at that time and falling behind was his first defeat. Kamal Haasan made these remarks during the 8th anniversary celebration of his party, where he hoisted the party flag at the party office in Alwarpet on Friday.

During the event, Kamal Haasan mentioned that he realized the distinction between his supporters and voters in his political journey. He assured that his party would continue serving the public as long as there is even a single voter left. He expressed that if he had entered politics twenty years ago and made the right decisions back then, he would have been in a higher political position today.

Talking about the Tamil language, Kamal Haasan said that Tamil is the language that unites the people of the state, and it is the confidence of the Tamil people that drives him forward. He emphasized that no one could diminish the greatness of the Tamil language, which has risen to great heights. He also mentioned that this year, for the first time, his party's voice will be heard in the Parliament.

This is because several Rajya Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu will be vacant in July this year, and according to an agreement, the ruling DMK will allocate two Rajya Sabha seats to Kamal Haasan's party. Both Kamal Haasan and another party member are expected to enter the Rajya Sabha. Kamal Haasan made these comments in this context. He also expressed hope that the party would have members in the state assembly next year.

Kamal Haasan stated that party workers should serve the public as best as they can, as that is the key to ensuring a bright future for the party.
