House Adjourned: Bangladesh Talk In Indian Parliament

Rajya Sabha was adjourned after opposition MPs demanded discussions on issues like Manipur violence, the arrest of Hindu priest Chinmoy Das in Bangladesh and rising crime rates.

Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed frustration noting repeated disruptions had already cost three days of proceedings. He criticized the misuse of Rule 267 which allows suspension of regular business for urgent matters stating it was being weaponized to create disruptions. Dhankhar lamented that such behavior dishonored parliamentary duties and made Parliament a subject of ridicule.

The government accuses the Opposition of misusing Rule 267 to obstruct proceedings while the Opposition claims the government avoids addressing critical public issues. This ongoing conflict often results in adjournments and reduced parliamentary productivity. Following heated sloganeering the House was adjourned until December 2 at 11 AM leaving pressing matters unresolved.
