French Ambassador's Phone Stolen During Diwali Shopping in Delhi's Chandni Chowk, Recovered by Police
In a crowded Diwali shopping scene, France's Ambassador Thierry Mathou had his mobile phone stolen while shopping with his wife in Delhi’s famous Chandni Chowk market. The incident, which occurred near the Jain Temple on October 20, led to a swift response from Delhi Police following an online complaint filed by the French Embassy.
Police launched a special investigation team, reviewing CCTV footage from the area. The team identified and arrested four suspects, aged between 20 and 25, who were residing along the Yamuna riverbanks.
The ambassador’s phone was successfully recovered and returned to him, and further investigation into the case is ongoing.
