Former BJP MLA Anil Jha Joins AAP in Delhi

In a significant political development in Delhi, former BJP MLA Anil Jha has joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He officially became a member of AAP in the presence of the party's National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. This move comes shortly after Delhi minister and senior AAP MLA Kailash Gahlot resigned from the party.

Welcoming Anil Jha to AAP, Kejriwal praised him as one of the prominent leaders of the Purvanchal community in Delhi. He highlighted the contribution of Purvanchal residents, hailing from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, who come to Delhi for education and employment opportunities. Kejriwal criticized previous Congress and BJP governments for neglecting this community and emphasized his administration's efforts to improve their living conditions and infrastructure.

Anil Jha, who served as a two-time BJP MLA from the Kirari Assembly constituency in North West Delhi, expressed dissatisfaction with the BJP’s policies. Explaining his decision, Jha said that he joined AAP because of the party’s focus on development and welfare. He commended Kejriwal for his dedication to the Purvanchal community and for providing basic amenities, including clean drinking water, to every household in Delhi.

Jha also criticized certain Delhi BJP leaders, referring to them as "spoiled children," and accused the central BJP leadership of ignoring them like an "indifferent father." This political shift is likely to have significant implications for the political landscape in Delhi, particularly among the Purvanchal community.
