Mumbai Police arrested 53 year old Shakti Prakash Bhargav from Kanpur for disrupting a meeting of BJP activists and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a hotel in Bandra Kurla Complex on Sunday.
Bhargav reportedly used a fake media ID to gain access to the high security event. He interrupted the meeting by shouting about the Lal Imli Mill scam and throwing papers to attract the minister's attention.
Security quickly subdued him and handed him over to the police. Bhargav has been charged with cheating and forgery under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Investigations suggest he was frustrated with the lack of action on the Lal Imli Mill scam involving funds diverted from workers’ accounts in Kanpur. Police are continuing their inquiry into the case.
