Fadnavis Sworn in as Maha CM, Shinde and Pawar as Deputy CMs

Devendra Fadnavis was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for the third time. Alongside him, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar took oaths as Deputy Chief Ministers. The ceremony was conducted by Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan at Azad Maidan in Mumbai.

The event witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah, J.P. Nadda, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Nirmala Sitharaman, and BJP-led state Chief Ministers like Yogi Adityanath and Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar also attended.

Additionally, notable figures like industrialist Mukesh Ambani, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali, and Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Ranveer Singh were present.

The swearing-in comes after a decisive victory by the Mahayuti alliance in the recent Maharashtra assembly elections. The BJP emerged as the largest party in the coalition, securing 132 seats, followed by Shinde-led Shiv Sena with 57 seats and Ajit Pawar's NCP faction with 41 seats.

Fadnavis's Political Journey:

Devendra Fadnavis has had a longstanding career in politics. His father, Gangadhar Fadnavis, was actively involved with Jan Sangh and the BJP. Starting his political journey with the ABVP in 1989, Fadnavis was elected as Nagpur Corporator at the young age of 22. He became the city's Mayor at 27 in 1997, the youngest in India at the time.

Fadnavis has been an MLA since 1999. He first became Maharashtra CM in 2014 and briefly held the position again in November 2019, resigning within three days due to insufficient legislative support. In June 2022, following Eknath Shinde's rebellion in Shiv Sena, Fadnavis served as Deputy CM under Shinde's leadership.
