Exit Polls Proved Wrong in Haryana and Jammu

In a surprising turn of events, the exit polls for the Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir Assembly elections have been proven inaccurate. In the closely fought battle in Haryana, the BJP is on track to secure a hat-trick, defying earlier expectations. Initially, Congress appeared to be leading, but BJP made an unexpected comeback, surpassing the magic number and gaining a majority. The BJP is now poised to form the government for a third consecutive term.

In Haryana, out of the 90 assembly seats, a party needs 46 seats to form the government. As of 1:30 PM, BJP has taken the lead, with a combined total of 47 seats (wins and leads). Congress has been limited to 37 seats, while INLD is ahead in 2 seats, and others in 4. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has failed to open its account in the state.

Meanwhile, in Jammu & Kashmir, the National Conference-Congress alliance seems to be heading toward a clear majority. As per the latest trends, the National Conference is leading in 43 seats. BJP is leading in 28, PDP in 2, Congress in 7, and others in 10 seats. In this region, BJP and PDP contested separately, while Congress and the National Conference formed an alliance.

The election results indicate that BJP is maintaining its stronghold in Haryana, while in Jammu & Kashmir, the voters have favored the National Conference-Congress alliance.
