Former BJP MLA Shashi Ranjan Parmar became emotional during an interview after being denied a ticket for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. He had hoped to contest from the Bhiwani and Tosham constituencies but lost the Tosham seat nomination to Shruti Chaudhury, daughter of BJP MP Kiran Chaudhury.
In a video, Parmar tearfully expressed his disappointment feeling betrayed after assuring his supporters that he would be considered for the ticket. Despite attempts by the interviewer to console him Parmar continued to express his pain, stating he felt helpless and mistreated.
He has called a meeting with his supporters on September 6 in Bhiwani and may consider running as an independent candidate. Haryana elections will take place on October 5, with the nomination deadline on September 12 and the final date for withdrawal on September 16.
Parmar’s emotional response highlights the personal and political struggles candidates face during the election process.
