Ex-Gehlot Aide Claims Call Recording Evidence

Lokesh Sharma, former OSD to ex-Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot submitted evidence to Delhi Police's crime branch claiming Gehlot gave him call recordings of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat during the 2020 political crisis.

Sharma provided a pen drive, laptop, and phone for investigation, following his interrogation last week over a phone-tapping case filed by Shekhawat. Sharma stated that Gehlot gave him a pen drive with call recordings involving Shekhawat and Congress leaders, which he circulated to the media.

He insists he did not intercept the calls claiming Gehlot directed the operation. The 2020 crisis stemmed from a rebellion led by then-Deputy CM Sachin Pilot against Gehlot. Sharma circulated the audio clips allegedly revealing plans to topple the Congress government. In March 2021 Delhi Police filed charges against Sharma for conspiracy and phone interception based on Shekhawat's complaint.
