Elderly Woman Was Denied Wheel Chair- Air India Blamed

An 82-year-old woman, widow of a Lt General, suffered a brain stroke after falling at Delhi’s IGI Airport when she was allegedly denied a pre-booked wheelchair by Air India. She sustained serious head injuries, a bleeding nose, and cuts. Her family waited for assistance for an hour before she attempted to walk but collapsed near the airline counter.

Her granddaughter, Parul Kanwar, shared the ordeal on social media, stating that no airline staff helped. Despite her injuries, she was boarded without proper medical aid. The flight crew provided ice packs and arranged for medical help upon landing in Bengaluru, where she received stitches. Scans later revealed a brain stroke.

Air India responded, expressing concern and promising an investigation. However, Kanwar criticized the airline’s response, saying human life was undervalued. The incident has sparked outrage over negligence in providing essential services to senior citizens.
