Bihar is set to witness Assembly elections later this year, and the political battle between the ruling NDA and the opposition RJD is heating up. Even before the official election schedule is announced, accusations and counter-accusations are flying from both sides. The war of words between Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav has escalated significantly.
In a recent event held in Patna, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a scathing attack on CM Nitish Kumar, calling his government "inefficient" and stating that Bihar no longer needs such leadership. "The retirement age is generally 60 years. Do you still want a 75-year-old Chief Minister?" he questioned the people of Bihar.
Tejashwi further stated that it is time for Bihar to move forward with a new vehicle and not be stuck with a "broken cart," indirectly comparing Nitish Kumar’s government to an outdated system. The political rivalry between Tejashwi Yadav and Nitish Kumar was also evident in a recent Assembly session, where heated exchanges took place.
When Tejashwi questioned the achievements of the Nitish government, the CM hit back, saying, "I am the one who made your father a leader." In response, Tejashwi countered by saying, "Everything you studied, your tenure as a Union Minister, and even this Assembly building—these were all established before 2005."
With the elections approaching, the political climate in Bihar is intensifying, and both sides are gearing up for a fierce contest.
