DK Vs Satish: Tensions Escalate in Karnataka Congress

Political drama has intensified within Karnataka's Congress. The battle for the KPCC (Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee) president post has led to verbal spats among Congress leaders. Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and another minister have clashed, with BJP opposition taking jabs at the ruling party's internal strife.

Despite recent instructions from the high command for leaders to refrain from speaking out of turn, the situation remains unchanged. Speaking to the media on Thursday, DK Shivakumar emphasized that the KPCC president's post cannot be "found in a marketplace." He stated that those who have served the party would be rewarded with appropriate positions, and criticized some leaders for seeking positions in front of the media. He also mentioned that Congress's success was a collective effort, not just his, and that Rahul Gandhi and CM Siddaramaiah had advised party discipline.

Meanwhile, Minister Satish Jarkiholi, who has been a vocal critic of DK Shivakumar, received notices from the KPCC but downplayed the situation. He stated that he had never claimed to be in the race for the KPCC president's post and would respond to the notices in front of the party president. Satish clarified that his comments were misunderstood and criticized the media for creating unnecessary controversies.

Opposition BJP leaders have made sarcastic remarks about the ongoing rift within the Congress, pointing out that such internal squabbles are not new for the party.
