AAP Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reminded people that Diwali is a festival celebrated by lighting lamps, not bursting firecrackers. In his message, he urged everyone to avoid firecrackers to protect the environment, emphasizing the responsibility everyone shares in safeguarding nature.
Kejriwal highlighted that the Supreme Court and High Court have also recommended celebrating Diwali by lighting lamps instead of using firecrackers to prevent environmental pollution.
"This is a festival of lights, not of firecrackers. Avoiding firecrackers is not a favor to anyone; it’s about protecting our children’s health from increasing pollution. This is beyond religious boundaries, as health and life are important for everyone," he said.
