Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has expressed deep dissatisfaction over the lack of discipline within the party. Speaking at the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Delhi on Friday, following the party’s defeats in the Haryana and Maharashtra assembly elections, Kharge addressed key issues plaguing the party.
He stated that while the Congress showed promising momentum during the Lok Sabha elections, the results of the three state assembly polls were disappointing. He emphasized the urgent need for reforms within the party, highlighting that internal discord and public criticism among leaders significantly impacted the election outcomes.
Kharge also raised concerns over the reliability of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), suggesting that they have cast doubt on the electoral process. He urged the Election Commission (EC) to ensure free and fair elections. Additionally, he called for structural changes within the party, from the grassroots level to the All India Congress Committee (AICC), to strengthen its foundation.
