Congress leader Digvijaya Singh stirred controversy by calling BJP Madhya Pradesh chief VD Sharma "impotent" during a press conference in Bhopal. Singh criticized Sharma for his perceived lack of action despite being part of a ruling government.
Singh accused the administration of biased handling of a recent incident in Chhatarpur, where Hazi Shahzad Ali, the main suspect in a stone-pelting case, was arrested and had his house demolished. He claimed the BJP and its affiliates operate with a coordinated agenda similar to historical injustices.
Singh also compared the RSS's treatment of Muslims to historical atrocities and claimed that the RSS and BJP are following a divisive path similar to that of the British.
He criticized the Madhya Pradesh government for not complying with Supreme Court guidelines he petitioned for in 2021 and stated his intention to pursue legal action in the Bhind case.
