Maharashtra Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal shocked everyone with an unexpected act on Friday. He jumped from the third floor of the Mantralaya, the state secretariat building, in protest. However, due to the safety net installed on the second floor as a suicide prevention measure, Zirwal landed on the net, escaping without any injuries.
Zirwal, along with NCP MLA Kiran Lahamate and BJP tribal MP Hemant Savar, jumped as part of a protest against the non-inclusion of the Dhangar community in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list. Thanks to the safety net, all three individuals were unharmed.
Reacting to the incident, BJP MLC Gopichand Padalkar expressed disapproval, stating that a person holding a constitutional position like Zirwal should not resort to such extreme forms of protest.
