Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal urged PM Modi to enact a law prohibiting billionaires' loan waivers. Addressing the media, Kejriwal criticized the central government for writing off corporate loans worth crores while ordinary citizens face heavy taxes.
He questioned why the government doesn’t waive home or car loans for the common people, who pay a significant portion of their income in taxes. Kejriwal argued that stopping such waivers could halve income tax and GST rates, double the taxable income limit, and remove GST on essential items.
Calling this practice a massive scandal, he demanded immediate action. The Delhi elections are on February 5, with results on February 8. Kejriwal seeks a third term, building on AAP’s 2020 victory of 62 out of 70 seats.
