Air pollution in Delhi is intensifying day by day, with several areas of the city now covered in thick fog. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Anand Vihar has recorded a severe 473.
On Thursday morning, dense fog engulfed the capital, leading to zero visibility on the roads. Vehicles became nearly invisible, causing significant difficulty for drivers. Even by 9 AM, the sun was not visible due to the thick fog. This drastic drop in visibility has had a severe impact on air and rail traffic (Flights Delayed).
At Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, more than 300 flights were reported to be delayed, as per Flightradar 24. Some flights were even diverted. In total, 115 flights scheduled to arrive in Delhi and 226 flights departing from the capital were delayed, with delays ranging from 17 to 54 minutes on average. Additionally, the fog is also severely affecting train operations.
