Decline in Indian Students Heading to the U.S.

The number of Indian students pursuing higher education in the United States has decreased this year.

From January to September 2024, only 64,008 F-1 visas were issued to Indian students, compared to over 100,000 during the same period last year, according to the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs.

This marks the first significant decline in student visa issuance to Indian students since the COVID-19 pandemic. Similarly, there has been an 8% drop in student visas issued to Chinese students as well.
