A woman Congress leader from Haryana was allegedly groped during an event in the presence of senior leader Deepender Singh Hooda. Congress MP Kumari Selja condemned the incident demanding strict action. The woman released a video claiming "mischievous elements" were spreading false information using fake IDs in her name to target her uncle a Congress candidate.
She affirmed her support for Congress. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized Congress, accusing the party of disrespecting women, and promised action if a formal complaint was made. Selja stated that the woman had confirmed she was harassed at the event.
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla condemned the incident, questioning Congress's safety for women and referring to previous allegations against the party. He criticized Congress leaders Priyanka Vadra and Rahul Gandhi for their silence, demanding action against Hooda’s supporters
