The Congress has criticized the FIR filed against Rahul Gandhi over a Parliament scuffle, calling it a "diversionary tactic" to distract from his protests against Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks on BR Ambedkar. Congress leader KC Venugopal described the FIR as a "badge of honour," claiming it is part of a political vendetta, with Rahul already facing 26 FIRs. He questioned why no action was taken on complaints by Congress women MPs alleging assault by BJP leaders.
The FIR, based on a BJP complaint, accuses Rahul of "physical assault and incitement" during the scuffle, with charges including voluntary causing hurt and criminal intimidation. Congress countered with its own complaint, alleging BJP MPs pushed Rahul and injured Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge.
The clash occurred during simultaneous protests by BJP and Congress alliances over Shah's remarks on Ambedkar, escalating tensions near Parliament’s Makar Dwar.
