Congress in Clear Lead in Haryana

The counting of votes for the Assembly elections in Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir is underway, and early trends show a clear lead for the Congress party in Haryana. In Jammu & Kashmir, the INDIA alliance is also leading.

In Haryana, out of the 90 assembly seats, results for 83 seats have been declared so far. Congress is leading in 61 seats, while the BJP is ahead in 15 seats. The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) is leading in 3, and others in 4 seats. BJP, which has been in power in Haryana for the past decade, is facing a significant setback, as predicted by various surveys. Congress has already crossed the majority mark of 46 seats required to form the government.

In Jammu & Kashmir, the BJP is pushing hard with strategic moves to gain power. They have already nominated five MLAs who have been given voting rights. Out of the 90 assembly seats, results for 78 have been declared. The Congress-led alliance is ahead in 42 seats, while the BJP is leading in 28 seats. The results show a close contest in Jammu & Kashmir, with final clarity expected by 11 AM.
