The Congress Party inaugurated its modernized central office on Wednesday in Delhi. Situated at 9A Kotla Road, the six-story building is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The new office was formally inaugurated by senior leader Sonia Gandhi and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge.
The new headquarters has been named 'Indira Gandhi Bhawan' in honor of the former Prime Minister. The event was attended by prominent leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal, Congress Chief Ministers, state unit chiefs, and around 400 other senior leaders.
For the past five decades, the party operated from 24 Akbar Road, a government-owned bungalow. However, following a central government directive mandating that political parties vacate government accommodations, Congress began constructing its own office.
The foundation for the new headquarters was laid in 2008 at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, with construction starting in 2009. After nearly 15 years, the project is now complete, marking a new chapter for the Congress Party.
