BJP State President Annamalai on Thursday demanded that the DMK government take immediate action to waive off crop loans for farmers in the state. He criticized the DMK government for having failed to fulfill its promises made to the public to form the government, particularly during the last four years of their rule.
Annamalai claimed that Chief Minister Stalin and his cabinet have neglected the welfare of the people and the state's development. He pointed out that law and order had worsened, while drug usage had increased. Particularly concerning, Annamalai said, was the rise in rape incidents, to which the government has not responded adequately.
He emphasized that the promise made to waive farmers' loans has yet to be fulfilled, resulting in numerous farmers committing suicide. Annamalai called for the establishment of a committee to address the issue and demanded that crop loans of small and marginal farmers be waived.
