BJP Offered Sisodia CM Position in Exchange for Leaving AAP

Manish Sisodia, senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, has made explosive claims against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a recent interview, Sisodia revealed that while he was incarcerated in Tihar Jail, the BJP offered him the position of Chief Minister.

Sisodia explained that during his time in jail, the BJP understood his struggles, including his wife’s health issues and his son’s education. He claims that the BJP leaders suggested he join their party and, in return, promised to make him the Chief Minister after breaking up the AAP alliance. Sisodia was reportedly warned that if he refused the offer, he would remain in jail for a prolonged period. He alleged that the BJP gave him an ultimatum saying, “Leave Kejriwal, or rot in jail.”

Sisodia also criticized the BJP for allegedly trying to buy out leaders from other parties, claiming that the BJP was more interested in power than addressing public needs such as schools and hospitals. He accused the party of using false cases to imprison people who disagreed with them.

Sisodia was arrested in 2023 in connection with the Delhi liquor scam's money laundering case and spent nearly 17 months in Tihar Jail before being granted bail by the Supreme Court. Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for next month, and Sisodia is contesting from the Jangpura constituency.
