BJP, Congress Slogans Clash in Elections

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has challenged recent BJP slogans used by Prime Minister Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Modi’s “Ek Hai To Safe Hai” and Adityanath’s “Batoge To Katoge” are aimed at promoting unity, especially among Hindu voters.

Kharge, however claims these are fear-mongering tactics to polarize voters ahead of the Jharkhand Assembly Elections. He countered with his own slogan, “Daroge Toh Maroge,” criticizing BJP leaders for stoking fear.

The BJP’s slogans come as a counter to the Opposition’s focus on caste representation. Rahul Gandhi has proposed a nationwide caste census, asserting that it would address representation issues. This push for caste politics was highlighted in the Lok Sabha campaign, where the BJP fell short of its “400 seats” ambition. To mitigate this, the BJP now promotes “unity of castes” to counter the caste-centered rhetoric from the Opposition.
