Bilateral Agreement Between India and Qatar

India and Qatar officially signed a bilateral agreement on Tuesday to establish a strategic partnership. The agreement was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at Hyderabad House. The Amir of Qatar arrived in India on Monday evening for a two-day visit.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), this visit will further strengthen the multifaceted partnership between India and Qatar. Prime Minister Modi and the Amir of Qatar held crucial discussions on bilateral relations.

Qatar's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar exchanged agreements. A revised agreement was also announced regarding income tax matters to prevent double taxation and economic fraud. Another important agreement was exchanged between the Prime Minister of Qatar and India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

These agreements are expected to further strengthen trade, investment, and economic cooperation between the two countries. The bilateral relations between India and Qatar are set to progress in a new direction in the coming years. The revised agreement on income tax matters to prevent double taxation and financial fraud was also announced at the ceremony held at Hyderabad House.
