Indian filmmaker Ashoke Pandit expressed shock and sorrow over the killing of former minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique calling it a concerning incident given Siddique's high level security.
Pandit described Siddique as a close friend, a successful politician and a beloved figure in his constituency. He was especially worried about how someone so well-protected could be killed, which raised concerns for the safety of ordinary citizens. Siddique admired in the film and television industry had strong ties with the entertainment world, making his death a significant loss to them.
Pandit extended his condolences to Siddique’s family and followers. He also appealed to government leaders to ensure better security for all citizens, regardless of their status. Siddique, a former MLA, was shot in Mumbai, and two suspects have been arrested, with the police recovering the weapon used in the crime.
