Land prices in Ayodhya are expected to rise sharply, as the circle rates in the temple town are set to be revised for the first time since 2017. Key areas could see rates increase by up to 200% largely due to significant developments and a surge in real estate activity following the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ramlala in January 2024.
B.P. Singh, a government official stated that the district collector has proposed this increase to match current market trends given the rapid rise in property values. Yogendra Singh, Ayodhya's Additional Inspector General of Stamps noted that land near the Ram Mandir area has been selling at prices well above the existing circle rates sometimes exceeding them by up to 1,235%.
A proposal for the new rates has been prepared, and public objections are invited until September 4. After this the district administration will finalize and release the new rates following the guidelines under Rule 4 of the Uttar Pradesh Stamp (Valuation of Property) 1997.
