Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, has passed away. He was hospitalized recently after suffering a brain stroke and succumbed to his illness on Wednesday while undergoing treatment.
Following his demise, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several BJP leaders expressed their condolences. The last rites of Acharya Satyendra Das are scheduled to take place today.
Hospitalization and Passing
Due to health complications, Acharya Satyendra Das was admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in February. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, he breathed his last in the hospital on Wednesday, according to close sources.
A Legacy of Devotion
Acharya Satyendra Das had been serving as the chief priest at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi for 34 years. Born on May 20, 1945, in Sant Kabir Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, he had immense devotion to Lord Ram since childhood. Under the influence of his guru, Abhiram Das Ji, he renounced worldly life and embraced asceticism in 1958, choosing to live in an ashram.
Throughout his life, he remained deeply devoted to religious service and was a respected figure in the spiritual community.
