Audio Leak: Congress MLA on Distributing Rs 100 Per Vote

An audio clip allegedly featuring Karnataka Congress MLA K.M. Shivalingegowda, discussing cash distribution ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, has gone viral on social media. In the audio, Shivalingegowda is reportedly heard instructing party workers on how to distribute money to voters.

As per the audio, Shivalingegowda suggests, "Distribute the money as instructed by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. Shreyas Patel (Congress candidate for Hassan Lok Sabha seat) is giving Rs 5 crore, former MLC Gopalaswami Rs 1 crore, and I will contribute Rs 1 crore. A total of Rs 7 crore must be distributed properly. Give Rs 500 per vote but don’t hand out money to those likely to vote for other parties. This is the decision of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister."

The clip also discusses the leaked obscene videos of Hassan JD(S) candidate Prajwal Revanna, which had caused a stir during the elections. Shivalingegowda allegedly remarks, "We should make good use of the videos. After the video leak, Kumaraswamy did not campaign, and Deve Gowda is too old to campaign."

This audio leak has added to the controversy surrounding the election campaign in Karnataka.
