Another Big Shock for Kejriwal

The controversy surrounding the "Sheesh Mahal" renovation in Delhi has intensified. Allegations that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's official residence was extensively modernized with exorbitant expenses and rule violations have sparked a major political storm. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is facing severe criticism, particularly from BJP leaders, who accuse it of misusing public funds.

The central government has now ordered a comprehensive investigation into the issue. Following a report submitted by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) on February 13, the Narendra Modi-led government decided to probe alleged violations in the renovation of "Sheesh Mahal." Key concerns include the massive expenditure and unauthorized modifications to the 40,000-square-yard property.

BJP leaders claim large-scale corruption in the renovation, alleging the inclusion of luxury amenities such as golden commodes, a swimming pool, and a mini bar. With accusations of spending Rs 80 crore in public funds, the central government's decision to launch an inquiry marks a significant development in the ongoing controversy.
